Children’s Environmental Health Issues

Environmental risks tend to be more dangerous to children than adults. According to the Institute for Children’s Environmental Health, this is because children consume more food and water for their body weight. Children are also exposed to many different environments. Young children may also spend more time on the ground, and touch more objects and surfaces.

Even small amounts of pesticides or other toxic substance can result in dramatic impairments in the mental and behavioral health of children and teens. Make sure that your children are safe! Learn more about the environmental risks to children in schools, homes, and communities below.
